Trying my hand at Street Photography - Mumbai November/Diwali 2013

Here's my first attempt at street photography & what better a place to kick off than Amchi Mumbai, where millions pass by with their zillion emotions & aspirations.
Had quite a few wonderful interactions with most of my subjects.

This kid working with the rangoli stencil, ducked his head in at the last moment when he realized I had the camera pointing in his direction.

The tailor in this pic was extremely serious, concentrating hard on what he was doing. Just pointed the camera and clicked him at his focal best. In the end, he did manage a smile :)

 Caught this jeweler completely unaware.

Autos/Rickshaws - The rides that carry Mumbai; carried me as well... All the way from Andheri to Bandra.

I loved this one for its incomplete frame & the city reflection.

Another one on the ride to Bandra.

Random shot..

This is my Grandfather. Hears very little. Reads lips :)

Another random one ...

This young lady was hard selling her flowers.

This fella was super cool.. Totally chilled out in an otherwise, humid Lokhandwala lane.

These young lads selling oil lamps, spotted the camera in my hand & asked "Camera?"
"Photo lega?" (will you snap) I obliged... they smiled & smiled much more on seeing their snap... and asked me "Midday mei chapega kya?" (will it be printed on Midday).... they made me laugh too!!

One more random shot.

Accidental shot... This one could have cost me my arm. Wanted to take a shot of the lit up street from the center of the road. Crossed over and stood on the divider, not realizing a bus was passing just mm's from me.

My name is Shashwathi and I work with Parent Circle magazine, Chennai. We were writing an article on 'Unique Diwali Traditions' and were featuring Mumbai and specifically Andheri.

I would be truly grateful if you could grant me to use your pic, along with credit given to you. Please do oblige. :)
