Tack 4 Nations T20 Festival - Kuwait

Cricket in Kuwait is very popular amongst the expat population from the subcontinent, played weekly on a local level amongst teams formed on the bonds of passion for the gentleman's game.
So when a well promoted event as TACK's 4 Nation T20 Festival comes along, that makes it a not to miss out weekend event. Especially for the line up of international cricketers coming over and having a go with the lads from Kuwait.

What do we pursue?

A decent majority of us are pacing to achieve, attain, prosper in our respective career paths, personal motives.

We are so engrossed in the rat race that we don’t even look beyond our perceived slice of cheese, generally ignoring the niceties, each day, each of our lives has to offer.

We even perceive ambitions on behalf of our young, just like our old did with us, so that they, like us can become successful as measured by societal yardsticks.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque - Abu Dhabi

Kuwait decided to have an extended Eid holiday, giving the complete week off. So, me and the family ventured out to the UAE for a short holiday. Of the many other things to see and do, we decided to take a tour of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.

The mosque as the name suggests is grand, beautifully merging different styles of Islamic architecture. Also, with the mosque being the biggest of the UAE and one of the bigger ones of the world, makes it a must visit on a tour of the emirate.

The mosque stunningly blends all of the beauty of the Islamic world, from the carpets, chandeliers, woodwork to the domes and minarets in one single place and showcases it to the visitors of all faiths.

With little time on hand, have only managed to capture a few shots, which simply do not equate with the real visuals the mosque offers.

Details of the mosque can be found at

Blink and miss!

Today, i was in the mood to capture outdoor images, without any specific location in mind i set out to settle my urge. While driving around i spotted a location  and stopped. With the sun setting behind the spot, few clouds around in the sky adding a dash of colour, was what i had settled for.

As the sun set and the Azaan (call for prayer) made, i decided to walk into the masjid/mosque to attend Maghrib prayers. As i walked in i realized, this wasn't your ordinary modern day masjid, rather an old structure, renovated over time.

After the prayers were done i stood in the courtyard of the masjid and couldn't help but take this snap with my phone.

As i was walking out i noticed this tablet stuck put up on the wall next to the entry/exit door.
Turns out the masjid was initially built in 1900 (114 years ago). I'd expected it to be old but certainly not 100 plus years.
Stranger part is, the masjid is located on the big grounds opposite Souq Sharq and in very close proximity to Sanabel Tower.

I'd really like to trail around and find some more older spaces in urban settings.

My love for the rise.

There was never a night or a problem that could defeat sunrise or hope - Bern Williams

Apart from being the time that brings out light after the long night has gone by. The calm and cool breeze, the chirping of birds, the non-existence of people in numbers, initiates peace within & also lets you have silent conversations with the self. Also is the best time to appreciate the beauty of nature.

Sharing some of the sights that helped me through the dark.

We can only appreciate the miracle of a sunrise if we have waited in the darkness - Unknown
